i think he might know that, since he did post that he perfers to ride then drive. and people build them cause its cheap and they can have fun. if you can build any engine you want and blow it up then not even care about it, then yeah building a d is kind of dumb. but if your on a buget but want to work on (or learn about) an engine a d-series will do just fine.
