Traffic, it's been said before, I'll say it again. I actually didn't move to Cleveland b/c the roads/traffic suck. The city itself is fucking awesome, but I like to drive (I feel the same about NOVA, can't drive except off hours)
People: It's who you hang around, you hang around kids and heroin addicts thats on your ass, find some new friends. This is the same with whatever other groups you find offensive or pleasing...if demographics are important to you find the best fitting city (or perhaps more appropriantly, a part of a city).
Cars: I have friends up there that bitch about the same shit that happens here and some think its worse. There's a bigger population up there, of course there will be more fast and nice cars, at the same time more shit too...
Cost of living: It's my opinion that if you can afford to live in a higher cost of living area while your younger than do it. While a house might cost 3X as much you salary should partially compensate. A 30K car still costs 30K up there, and you make more. Living in higher cost then retiring to lower is great, doesn't work the other way around unless you have the big bucks.
Weather: Summer sucks just as much in NOVA and the winters are worse.
I lived up there for a short time, made good money and all, but just didn't like it. Didn't think I really fit in b/c I didn't have big bucks (maybe I was hanging in the wrong areas though... Dupont, Georgetown etc). Overall I just didn't like it, too much traffic, crime is worse (stat not opinion), and the Redskins and Orials suck.
