You're wrong and your post whoring is pretty lame as well. 14.9 volts is plenty high enough for an alterator/voltage system. And an easy way to test for a bad alternator is simply start the car, then disconnect the negative battery lead (and yes, it DOES matter because direct current goes from negative to positive in "flow") and if the car dies, your alternator is usually junk or the charge line is shot.
