I wasnt agreeing with the clutch kicking I would never do that in an autocross with most cars you never down shift you get into 2nd and leave it. I was going more in at the habit of entering turns to fast after drifting for a while I could be wrong never done it but watched it plenty. Plus your apex line for drifting I am sure would be a lot different then autox or the track again could be wrong.
