Don't want to lower your spirits, but you might not get that much money, just medical bills paid and some pocket money. The insurance company is the one whose going to take the hit, thats what they are for no matter what the situation. I can tell you whats going to happen. First, they will try to say that you were intoxicated (being at the beach that late at night) and that it was your fault for not obeying traffic signals or some bullshit. Second, they will drag this shit out as long as possible trying to low ball you and settle out of court. Third, They will bring in specialists and asess your injuries and then go into your past history to find anything to make you look partly liable. They have lawyers that are good at what they do and trust me they are good. My older brother was hit by a van and dragged over 150 ft!! He was in a coma for little over a month and suffered multiple life threatening injuries. He still suffers from these injuries 17yrs later and you know what the result was for the suite. After 6yrs of fighting this in court my family finally got his medical bills paid, and 115,000 for pain and suffering which is taxable. The kid driving the van was 15yrs old and intoxicated, he tried to drive off, but was stopped by bystanders. He was tried as a juvenile and found guilty on traffic infractions with no time servered and minor fines. His family paid no out of pocket because they had insurance. If they didn't, all they have to do is file bankruptcy and guess what you're stuck with the bills. Its just like someone getting hit by a uninsured motorist, you're stuck with the bill till you sue and try to get money. That's why most insurance companies carry uninsured motorist add-on. Well I typed enough, good luck, but don't get your hopes up, unless of course this lady is famous and then that means game on

. P.S. Be careful what you type on here, it is usable in court.
