Of course, a 440 isn't a great design, but then again, it's reputation says it was good enough comparatively!

The normal truck application of the 440 had a 7 quart oil pan. The normal car application was built with a 5 quart pan. However, The guy who told me that, also said he's never seen one in a van, though, it's very possible.

If you can see the oil pan, it's not hard to tell. The truck pan has a well over a foot deep, and the car pan is much more shallow.
