That's not really true either.

The European 1 series was powered by N45 & N46 inline 4s and diesel M47s The first N46 inline 6 wasn't introduced until 2006 and the. The N52 & N54 (engines that will power the US 1 series coupe) won't show up until 2008.

And for what it's worth Jermey Clarkson said it's crap
Wonder when he said it was "crap", because here is an article dated yesterday by him giving it 5 stars and claiming "BMWs finest".
