Though it won't take effect till July 1st, and the question of refunding thoes who have paid is still questioned by democrats on the board. Fairfax alone has assesed $13 Million in fees with $4.8 million collected as of December 31st. Currently, I'm faced with paying a $900 civil remedial fee under one of Virginias many statues, this one being 46.2-206.1 that took current action, with many residents refusing payment (leading to a revoked licence and warrant for arrest) while others write their congress men to support a bill of repeal. These fees are commonly x2 or even x3 the original violation fee. Personally I think these fees are rediculous, and a far-fetched cost to the common resident. Has any one else been faced with these fees? Whats your opinion? Do you support them being repealed or modified in any way?
