Default Re: Dyno Day at DTP in Chesapeake

Hey all. I must say that the interest and turn-out for the Dyno Day is far and away above and beyond what I dreamed it would be. Because of that...we have run into a couple of time hurdles.

The first hurdle has been cleared. The Dyno Day was split into 2 days to accommodate all those who are coming in from outside of the Hampton Roads area who want to tune their cars on the dyno.

The second hurdle hasn't reared it's head yet...but I can see it coming. That is...we may run out of time on Day 2. Currently, we have 4 signed up for tuning and 7 signed up for dyno only. For each tuning, you can expect at least 1.5 hours...so that's 6 hours so far. For dynoing only, Frank said that they can run 5 cars through per hour (with 3 pulls per car). With the 7 signed up already, that's already close to 1 1/2 hours. So, we're at around 7 1/2 hours already on Day 2.

All that said, for those listed as TBDs, please let me know (as soon as you know) if you will be able to come out for the Dyno Day..just keep in mind that whether you dyno or tune, it will be on Day 2. It's getting down to a "first-come-first-serve" type of situation. If/when I have to cut the sign-up off, I'll post it on here. I really hate the thought of having to turn people back, but if we do fill up before some of you are able to find out your schedule...and therefore aren't able to get you in, please come out for the cookout on Day 1 just to meet people, hang out, and enjoy yourself.

Finally, I would like to ask those of you who are definitely attending if you would be willing to send in a deposit...to me...for your dyno or tune time? Usually, when a shop holds a Dyno Day for a club, they ask for a deposit from everyone who signs up to help protect the shop from last minute cancellations from those who may decide the day of the event that they don't feel like doing the dyno/tune (and yes, I do understand that there are cancellations at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances...I'm not talking about those type of cancellations). DTP has not asked up for this. They are taking my word for everything...and I am taking all of you at your word. I, personally, would like to give DTP a little assurance that we are serious about our turnout. Again, this is 100% voluntary. If you would like to send in a deposit, PM me and I'll send you my address. If you don't want to send in a deposit, it's not a problem...you won't lose your spot on your day or be bumped for someone else. As far as I'm concerned, the lists are definite (barring, of course, any unforeseen problems, issues, etc.). I just wanted to ask because I (pretty) sure that you all won't mind me asking.

Thanks for understanding, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing you all!
