unhook the cable all together...see where the arm sits, might help discover the problem. Clutch disc in the right way? I had put a clutch in a single cam before and they gave me the wrong disc and it would not release, the center around the splines were to big and the throwout bearing would press on it causing it not to release. Just giving you suggestions.
