the g8 is a holden product with a gm drivetrain. g6 is a GM platform coming from the malibu. the g5 is a essentially a chevy cobalt. all of which have GM motors.
Who said its own company? I specifically stated it is a division of General Motors it is its own brand, what is so hard to understand about that? So what if it does not have its own engine? That is good business to utilize parts across the board. Why change you statement about “All Pontiacs share Chevy body parts and engines”? Because now you know how stupid that statement sounds and how incorrect that is.
The G8 does not share a complete GM drive train, which depends on the model you select, you could have a Holden engine powering that G8. Wow so the G6 shares a platform, but it does share the same body and engine parts, thanks for clearing that up. The G5 is a shared platform for many brands, it is not singular to one specific brand, and can vary as to what you find under the hood.
