Advance Auto Parts announced yesterday that its computer network had been hacked, jeopardizing customer information at 14 stores nationwide - including the store at
6300 West Broad St. The Roanoke-based company says the network intrusion may have compromised the financial information of up to 56,000 American customers. The company is sending out letters directly to customers it has identified as being part of the breach. Customers who are worried about their privacy can call a toll-free number for more information - 1-800-704-1154. That line stays open from 8 a.m. until midnight. Advance Auto Parts says it is working with law enforcement to track down whomever hacked their system.
