There's your answer, it's like a grandma driving a ferrari, yeah she'll get from point a to point b but the car is wasted. Same idea w/ a guitar. Why spend a grand on an instrument you just want to kill time on. Plus it takes time to develop your ear, so you would barely notice the difference. Personally I don't really care for electrics unless you're in a band, acoustics are so much more dynamic (unless you're Kenny Wayne Shepherd). But whatever, electrics can be fun too. I just think you learn so much more about the intricacies of the guitar w/ an acoustic instead of just slashing away on an electric (that gets old real quick).
