Also some benefits to having NC insurance is that it is a take-all-comers state. You can have 15 DUI's and a liscense suspended and any company has to insure you.

Typically insurance is very cheap in North Carolina.
And they don't typically reciprocate any violations out of state. So you can have a shitty record in Virginia, get a DL in North Carolina and it won't transfer your record.
Oh, thats pretty cool. When I called DMV in NC, the guy was telling me that insurance there is pretty cheap. If I ever get into any more serious trouble or something, this would be good info to know. For now, I am decently good. Hopefully nothing bizzar happens to me to force me to do something drastic like this.
