. Ive never ever heard of a cop looking up vins and shit, its not hard to pay a couple hundred bux and get all the vins professionally swapped. Motors now a days are all fucking swapped to shit anyways, so not like we have matching vins to start with.
How ever, it is still a felony. Now swapping a motor is not swapping a vin. Because the one stamped on that motor belongs to THAT motor, now taking a putting a differen't vehicles vin, on your car to register it under a differen't vehicle, now yes that is illegal. Just giving the heads up, i know people dont get popped for it for the most part, just know the risk.
