I gotta say the 4Runner (I drove my sister's '06 4Runner a whole lot in SoCal) takes it in the interior room department. Great for distances (drove to San Diego and back, two hours one-way) and everything else, very comfortable vehicle. So I'm not sure what the argument there is. Anyway, yeah I'd definitely go w/ the Edge simply because you're looking for a daily, and you'll probably appreciate the interior touches on a regular basis as opposed to what the FJ doesn't have. And it doesn't sound like you'll do any kind of real off-roading, more like not driving on asphalt every now and then (and if anything I'm sure you know someone w/ a truck for those rare occassions).
Thanks for your post. My biggest concern with the Edge is going to be legroom, but thanks for bringing to my attention the width concerns. The main reason I'm not interested in the 4Runner is because I LOVE the way both the FJ Cruiser and Edge look. I think they're both very fresh and appealing to me and the 4Runner is just another gas guzzler in a sea of SUVs. I'm not sure of what the 4Runner's MPG rating is, but another reason I like the FJ and Edge is because I think they're adequate for what I want to do and will still offer decent gas mileage. (considering their size and purpose) And yes, you hit the nail directly on the head with the off road comment. It's not that I'll be going "off-roading" through mud, rock crawling or fording rivers with either vehicle, but more so just venturing off of paved surfaces to pack up the balloon after a landing.

Hey... I guess good minds think alike. If you get your's before I make a decision, you're going to have to let me take it for a spin. Have your priced yours out yet? The only real options I want is navigation, Sync and AWD.

My vote goes to the Edge...
Yeah, I definitely want some form of AWD or 4WD. Not to mention, the CX-7 does nothing for me in the exterior looks department. They look pretty fresh on the inside, but not enough to make up for the outside.
