Default Re: A few questions

car oils are too slippery, they have a tendency to take out clutches. that, and in a car, the oil isn't ran thru the trans like most bikes, so it needs to be able to handle that. use motorcycle specific oil. i, personally, use gn4 dinosaur oil (the honda brand stuff) and have never had a problem.

and yeah, i love me some bridgestones. i ran bt's on the track too, never had a problem till i over heated them, then they turn to snot, but that's gonna be the case with any tire when over heated. on the street though, i've NEVER had any complaints with them. tire selection is all personal preference though. i know people that swear by dunlops, but i can't freaking stand them. when they slide, they slide WAAAYYY out, with little to no warning. with the bridgestones, i always felt like i had better feel, and i could tell better what the bike was doing under me when pushed hard. all tires are gonna suck if you aren't smooth with your inputs (steering, braking, etc).

oh, and fuck shinko's. i hate those tires. great on the drag strip, crap everywhere else. the profile of thier tires makes any bike i've ever ridden with them handle like poo.

like i said though, personal preference.
