First. Sorry, i over-simplified to keep the thread from getting too deep off topic and only added the brazil bit to show that ethanol does not have to be corn based. I never meant to insinuate that i was promoting it as any sort of solution. Just saying it's being done.

This thread isn't the place for theory without hard numbers so i'll keep it short... I'll keep it even shorter; I've rewritten this thread over and over again but it keeps coming out like a thesis... tl;dr!

All i'll say is my 30 year old Mercedes diesel is still running strong and within a year or so it'll be switching over to 100%algae stock. I'm too big a fan of distributed solutions to wait around.
