just because your compressor isnt cycling doesnt mean it is bad. It will not cycle if the pressures are low. You need to hook up some AC gauges and check the pressures to see whats in the system. Then go from there. The place you took it to did they actually check the pressures or did they just notice the compressor not coming on? If they did and it did have refrigerant but wasnt coming on, then you need to check power at the compressor,check fuse,check hi pressure switch and the low pressure switch
