honestly i dont think he is lookin for this kind of anwser...learning the hard way IS a way to teach you BUT there is still the risk of going out and being stupid and geting hurt, hurting someone else or geting killed.
there are quite a few places around here to put it on the track. I go out to pungo and little creek for autocross. IMO autox is one of the best alternatives to street racing and the sort. there is nothing to hit unless you count cones. Not only is it safe, it will also teach kids how to control there car.
entry fees are usually on the cheap side (compared to tickets)
