Check the battery ground. If you're jumping it with the jumper cable ground attached to the frame, you're not using the battery ground at all. It might be loose or corroded where it attaches.

Get that shit fixed and get rid of it. That 95 Avenger is going to start sprouting problems all over the place if it hasn't already.
