your friend comes to you with the situation that Pip described earlier... he got drunk, got in a fight and accidentally killed someone... shit now he needs a place to stay to figure shit out... you being the friend you are say ok you can stay here and we will figure it out....how are you betrayed??? HE got drunk, YOU where not there...no fault to you.
now lets say that same friend comes to you and says man... this dude started talking shit to me tonight while i was at the bar so i killed him..i need a place to stay...you say, i would love to help you with that, but i cant be put in that situation...chances are, he will understand and ask someone else for help... so even he is mad at you and will never be your friend again guess who isnt gonna go to jail...YOU...
you have a choice, stop making it seem like you are responsible for your friends actions if you make your own choices
the police arent looking for him yet. you need to be more specific. plus, if the dude was killed right there at the scene, your friend most likely would have never made it out the bar without the police on his tail. your hypothetical story is improbable. however, if he knowingly killed the guy, i would tell him to call the police and turn himself in. it is better to turn yourself in than to be caught.
