I put a chain on the front runner of the intake and the exhaust.

This is the driverside motor mount and bracket removed.

passenger side motor mount and bracket removed

cross member under motor was removed along with the front bump stop in front of the oil pan.

I disconnected the driveshaft, downpipe (bottom left of picture, still connected), and rear tranny mount and bracket.

The motor dropped down about 5 or 6 inches.

as you can see was plenty of room for the bolts to be removed and the trans to slide off.

I did disconnect the intake, and boost pipes. but nothing else was removed. The transmission was easily gotten to at this point. Took me all of about 45 min to do everything with hand tools. I used a 3 inch extension and a deep well 14mm to get the top starter bolt from the bottom of the motor after the motor mount was removed. It took some feeling around but it was fairly easy. I left the bottom starter bolt in to keep it lined up for easy re-installation. The car went back together in about an hour and a half again using my hand tools. Would have probably be a little faster with my air tools but I was just diligently working and didnt feel like breaking them out. Battery, a/c, alt, and all belts were all left in place. The engine was dropped just how it appears in the picture.
