The Marauders feature the 4.6l V-8 out of the older body style Cobra, which is being offered at the moment in the maruader, the aviator and the mach 1 mustang. it put out 302 hp. tha last ford vehicle to carry a 5.0l was the 96-97 Explorer eddie bauer or limited. mustang's switched to the 4.6l in 95.

as for the impalla being a muscle car, maybe not. as for it being slow not really. some people point out it's stock 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are somewhat slow. so were the times for the honda civic hatch, S-14, gti and GS-R. the LT-1 while being a haevy engine did produce alot of possibilities for the 94-96 SS impalla. figure mod for mod they'd be about a second slower per mod than their f-bodied counterparts. which means there'd be pleanty of 12-13 sec SS's out there (which there are). as for the marauder i've seen the kenny brown kit for it (car & driver this spring) which adds a little blower action to it and it had no problem throwing down 453rwhp, along with a 13.6 1/4 mile pass. not too bad for a big ol merc...
