If you get a WRX, you can still keep the overall look nicer and practical when you get older by making it spoiler'less and a quieter exhaust and stuff.

I liked the WRX because of the 5 inch ground clearance and I'm not lowering the car because I live in the mountains (reason for an AWD car...)

The Evo has this racer look all the time, even bone stock. This does not help if you start a family and get older and haul groceries in. I wouldnt see anyone own an evo for 10 years. I see myself keeping my 07 WRX and its still bone stock and I expect to be keeping this for about 14 years (calculating the mileage and overall car life, 300k+ miles...)
You can get a sti and swap trunks and boom looks like a wrx but faster.

As for an evo not being a family car and hauling groceries...um what is the difference between that and a wrx? Both awd, both seat 4-5, and have plenty of trunk space.

I know plenty of evo owners that will be keeping their cars for many years to come. I can guarantee that.
