Im still on stock TD04 with exhaust pipes and front mount and with a tune id be sitting at or around 300 and i havent spent alot of money on it. With an 18G like you did on yours you shouldve been pushing past 300. So there must have been something holden it back. A VF34 or 39 or a 16G will easily get you past 300. But your right, they do handle really well. But nothing agaist you or anything im just saying it isnt as hard as you think to get a WRX up there.
I would never have run my car over 300whp... I KNOW it could lay down 320-340whp. But who would want to do that when the tranny within that car is nicknamed the "glass tranny".
My point is, why sink money into something like that where the yields are terrible. The EJ20 motor is shit, so are the heads, they flow horribly. If I were to put money into one of those cars, i'd go with an STi motor. The ECUs are weaksauce, they have a very difficult time living with reflashes. ETC. ETC. ETC.
You'll be happy to know the subaru I owned was fully built when I bought it - I didn't invest anything into getting it the way it was (thank god)...And I bought it at an extremely good price at the time. Then it went to shit on me, cause well, it was not the best car for that setup. That's my personal soap box on those cars... If I wanted a fast as hell rally car, and were to do it over again i'd 100% go with an EVO, or STi. End of story.

Yes. An 18G on a DSM takes you much further, I hear.
