Default P73 ECU in a Stock 99 SI

P73 ECU (Type R)

Shouldn't that start my car if it is a good ecu???

I just recently got my hands on a type R motor and I will be swapping it soon but I wanted to test the ECU beforehand. I put it in and plugged it up and it cranks but won't start. Put my chipped P28 back in and she fires right up.

Does anyone know why this wouldn't work for a stock SI? Is it just sending too much fuel or what?

I would think since it is OBD2 and my car is OBD2 it should at least idle with it and I thought it would actually run the car pretty nice but I could be wrong on both parts.

I have a chipped P28 with crome in my car now with a conversion harness taking it back to OBD1 and when I unplug that the P73 plugs right in but won't work.

Hopefully that is all the info you guys need

Please help asap.

Thanks in advance
