I edited my post..... keep looking, you can pick up a decent miles 1.8 5-speed for 200 bucks or so if you're patient. Check out clubroadster.net miataturbo.net miata.net and craigshelper.com ...deals pop up all the time.
a v8 swapped NB will go for 20K easy to the right buyer, but you probably won't want to get rid of it if you do that
