Forgive me for my skepticism. It's actually my JOB to know who has the fast MR2s, and the potential they have. I fly around the country installing engine management systems in primarily MR2s and Supras, and try to keep my customers on top of things on who is making the most power, has the best ET, etc.
I don't mind if folks are faster, but the only fast MR2s I know of in the area near Capitol Raceway are a white one (Greddy TD06...low 300s at the wheels) and Mike Ko's red one (Greddy T67.......12.37 best time). The white one is owned by an older fellow, and the motor work was done at Abacus down here.
There IS another high powered white car up near there owned by a fellow named Tom Ross Jr. Unfortunately for him, his 2nd gear synchro is bad, so he runs low 13s at 119 mph.
MR2s are SO rare, that when a fast one comes out of the woodwork, most of the MR2 community hears about it. Also, and MR2 with good grip and powerful enough to run mid-low 11s snaps axles on almost every other pass. Take a look at the MR2 1/4 mile registry:

Note how many 11 second MR2s are in there compared to all the 12 second ones. It's a sad truth that the MR2 community is NOT that fast in comparison to, say, the DSM community. Technological breakthroughs have been slow in coming, and drag racing has been frowned upon by the community as a whole for as long as I can remember.
By the way, the thread starter was just pulling your collective chain. His car is actually pretty slow, in comparison.
