Awesome, another idiot S2000 driver who seems to think his "automotive masterpiece" is God's own gift to the fucking geniuses who drive them. If you're of the opinion that thinking the "automotive masterpiece" statement isn't something to lol at, I'm sorry: you're the one who has no clue what the fuck they're talking about.
Okay:
You admitted the top and the diff are common issues, and yet you call me "ignorant" based on the fact that you alone have had no issues with either?
So I'm wrong that the diffs are weak? I may not have ownership experience of an S2000, but I DO have ownership experience with the diff.
Hmmm, how's that work? Well, you see, I had a turbocharged Miata. Miatas, as it so happens, use the same differential as the S2000. It's known far and wide in the MX5 community that these diffs have issues, especially when venturing into the 300+ whp range. While you and your automotive masterpiece may not have had issues, there are PLENTY of instances where that's not the case, and if you try to say anything otherwise, you're nothing but an ignorant fuck yourself.
I've driven S2000s, and really, to be honest, they're nice cars. But they're FAR from automotive masterpieces. Trust me, I drive a car that actually IS one.
I'd love to hear what kind of bullshit excuse you come up with to work your way around the AP1's snap oversteer and gutless engine. Yeah dude, those are DEFINITELY earmarks to a masterpiece.
Yes IGNORANT. MISINFORMED. Not knowing what the fuck you are talking about. But you have the nerve to laugh at someone that does?
Yes masterpiece. Designed to preform and do something better than the compettion which it did with flying colors. Including your Miata. And Bmw. And everyone else in the class. It was the leading roadster for years.
120 hp/liter, one of the best flowing heads to ever be mass produced. Forged lightwieght pistons, rods, crank. Inconel valves. Perfect matched gearbox. Triple cone syncros. 50/50 weight distribution. Double wishbone in wheel suspension. Tilted strut towers just like the F1 car it was designed after. Fully adjustible toe and camber components. Super ridgid frame. Beautiful lines that will stand the test of time. One of the highest quality projectors to ever be produced including Ferrari, ect. And many other small little things that set it apart from all of the other roadsters at the time. Bottom line is it is a beautiful, very high quality top performer. And that's why I consider it an automotive masterpeice. It was a winner.
Also. maybe you need to re-read what I wrote initially. I said the top and diff problem was HEARD of. I'm sorry your little Miata had diff problems but there are plenty of high hp S2k's with the stock diff. Like I siad DRIVER ERROR. Wheel hop ect. destroys diffs. Sticky tires, dumping the clutch. Of course it's going to break if you are launching it with high power. GTFO of here all diffs have a breaking point. Learn how to drive the car so you don't jolt double the tq through the diff all at once.
How do I explain the snap steer? I fucking loved it. I learned how to make the car do what I wanted it to do. That car is nimble as fuck and it will either help you or destroy you. Learn how to drive the car before you use one of the sweetest things it offers against it. I can tell you are not a driver.
What do you drive that is a masterpiece? Probably a BWM with so many "high end" usless features that make it nicer than the S2000? Congratulations. You have a nicer car. Not an automotive masterpeice built soley for function. Many racers have gone back from the M3 to the S2000 again.
Now, 9 years later, yes there are better performers. But that doesn't change what the S2000 was in it's prime.
You are the typical ignorant non-owner assuming everyone that drives an S2000 thinks it is a gift from God. Yes alot of retards have them now. But that doesn't mean everyone is a fanboy and can't justify why. That's like me saying everyone that drives BMW is a prick and doesn't know anything about their cars.
You are entitled to your opinion of the car, it just doesn't matter. The S2000 was built to beat. And that's what it did. That's why everyone that owns them loves their car. Well the ones that know how to drive them and don't wreck them within the first month of ownership that is.
