Seems as though my heater core decided to die on my Civic. I was quoted $1400 by Leesburg Honda for the repair which seemed a bit steep. I do know that it is a pretty detailed repair but wanted to know if anyone on here has successfully completed one of these repairs before.

I travel quite a bit on business and would rather not just drop it off at a dealer and come back to find out it needs more and more repairs. I use the car to commute into D.C. when I work downtown, so, I don't feel like dumping an insane amount of money into a commuter car.

Any suggestions as to a reputable shop would be great or if anyone is looking to make some extra cash I would gladly compensate.
