i love Cox(the cable,i mean).i haven't checked the pricing lately(i just look at the total price on our bill for all services)for the cable services,but i thought it used to be $40 for standard and extended,then like $10 more for digital access.
anyway,i'm not a huge TV watcher,so i'm happy with the 80ish channels we get,plus we get all the digital simulcast channels for the $40(i think,maybe it is $50 now),i'm happy.
my mom's getting dish soon,so i'll be able to comment on it.
