The ZR1 has Brembos develooped for the Ferrari FFX (suepr Enzo), yet buying them from GM they cost about $1100 per rotor and $1500ish per caliper. There's a vendor on the Corvetteforum that will sell the pieces at cost and it comes out to about $7000 total in parts. Per GM the rotors will last the life of the car when not being raced.
So... I don't get how you can say that a similar (or the same) brake system will be 8-9x more expensive... and they're not even talking purchase price, they're talking about serivce costs apparently. So... I'm going to say it's just another exaggeration based on the statistic that used to float around that an Enzo's brake job was $30,000... whether or not it is... I have no clue.
Oh... Yeah... Nissan = Fail... For that price that car should have more power. But with more power it'd break the fragile transmission that much more often. If I'm spending $170,000 It wouldn't be on that. It'd start w/ a 'F' and end with a 'errari'.
