So, I ordered a new brake hose and put it on tonight but the old one is not damaged, anywhere at all, in any way. I am going to bring it back and let them pass it and then confront them with the old brake hose. If they try to give me a bunch of crap about it then who can I contact? I know the state police regulate inspections but is there a special divison/office withiin them that do this or what?
Save the hose and rejection sticker. Return to the station and ask which Trooper over sees their state inspectors. Call 424 6800 and get in contact with that Trooper. Explain to the trooper what happened and if need be file a complaint on that station and inspector. The Trooper will probally want to see the hose so keep it. I would double check the hose for damage before going this far. Make a complaint if need be, but make sure that there's no damage to the hose.
Did you remember to bleed the brakes after replacing the hose?
