What happens is if theres snow under the wheels and I press the brake it locks up about halfway, theres a crunching noise and the car just slides away. I looked around and it seems pretty common for subarus with abs to do something like that except the brakes still work in the end. I don't have stock brakes in the front of my car so maybe that's causing some problems? Any ideas?

1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5rs
Wilwood Superlite 6 brakes in the front (disk and pads changed less then a year ago)
Stock brakes in the back
Brakes lock up only when driving on snow (nothing during cold/rain/ice)
