Those are my biggest complaints against the car itself. Most people want big turbos, but if I could do it all over again I would've gone with a Stage 3 kit and called it a day. 400hp potential with just plain old bolt-on's. There aren't too many cars of that vintage ('03-'05) that can make the same claim, and virtually none that can do it for the same price. I'm not sure why other people pay so much for insurance. I pay less than $90/mnth full coverage (then again, I'm also 27).
Pros
- Cheap, fast, reliable. With the SRT-4, you no longer have to pick two.
- Good looking (for a neon)
- Mashing on far more expensive cars (sometimes)
Cons
- Be prepared to be lumped in with every SRT owning douche before you.
- Torque steer
- Its a neon. Plain and simple.
If you get an SRT-4, you will be laughed at, clowned on, and disrespected by 75% of the people on this site. If that matters to you, then obviously look elsewhere. If you're the kind of person that's more interested in the potential of the platform than the platform itself, take the plunge. The red one in this post looks pretty good. So does Daft Punk's.
