Yeah, you only have to wait the 30 day period so that's not that bad..lol.
I definitely recommend trying to borrow a 250 to take the test. The left turn/stop in the box, the braking at speed and the swerving test is easy for a 600. The cone swerves followed by a u turn can be tricky with a bigger bike.
