Take the pontiac solstice and the saturn sky for example. The solstice debuted one year before the sky. When the sky came out, sales of the solstice dropped 19% for that year, even though the solstice was a couple grand cheaper. This is probally one of the reasons GM decided a solstice coupe would be a good idea.
Think of it this way, do you think Chrysler could have sold an SRT4 neon AND an SRT4 calibur at the same time, even if one was badged a plymouth and one was badged a dodge? One of them would have went either way.....
