You call it an "accident", I consider accidents to be situations that are UNAVOIDABLE. What we have here is what your so-called "accident" is and that's poor judgment, lack of experience and/or inattention.

Hypothetically speaking, it was POOR JUDGMENT for him to consciously get on a running motorcycle completely sober and a noob to motorcycles and messing with the controls because it's "cool" and something going wrong due to LACK OF EXPERIENCE and his friends' INATTENTION to him was totally AVOIDABLE. Poor judgment is rampant in this case.

Flip side, if he was a little drunk and an experienced rider, he still had POOR JUDGMENT for drinking and mounting a bike let alone not having a helmet. This situation is also AVOIDABLE.

Worst case scenario, if he was completely sober and an experienced rider. I don't think I have to explain that.

Do NOT mistake poor judgment, inattention and/or lack of experience for an "accident" That's just trying to cover up for someone's inability to make smart decisions when they get what they ask for.

They don't call them accidents, they're called collisions - accidents imply that no one is responsible.

In this case there many who could be considered responsible: the rider, the bike owner, surrounding friends. They all played a part in him getting on the motorcycle and I'm sure they're all thinking "oh what if I told him this, what if I told him that" but they didn't and this is the result. Group irresponsibility is even worse when nobody notices it until it's too late.
