Default d-series help

my boy jumped timing in his d15b2 and we bought a d15b8 to replace until this summer when we plan on doing a real swap...we have the motor and everything in, but are having trouble with the distributor. does anyone know if a d15b2 distributor (off a 91) will work on a d15b8 (off a 92)? the points on the distributor off the 91 d15 are square and the one of the 92 d15 are in a diamond shape....will the 91 distributor not work because the cam shaft is in a different position when fired because of the positions in the 92 distributor? it looks to me like since the 92 is in a diamond that the firing points would be at a different time than the 91 and that by trying to use the 91 distributor, the firing is off and that the shaft is on the wrong stroke...someone please help me out, we've been workin on this car off and on after school and now that finals are over and we're on break, we want to have the hatch running....thanks for any help
