I have seen other street cars that did it, I believe Trent's car did it before the engine he has in it now. I have also seen some that didn't do it at all. My awesome luck is I get a car that does it and the only way to get it to stop is rebuild the engine. It is strange, the car was still making good power, hell it trapped almost 120 mph but smoked it's ass off.
Lesson for OP, it costs nothing to check clearances and dimensions as long as you can get a hold of the measuring equipment and can save you some headache later on.
