I could care less if anyone doesn't like my wheels. I rock Rota's on my STi and love them.
Why did I change my BBSs out for Rotas? Several reasons...
1. I wanted a set of summer wheels.
2. My stock BBSs were fucking ruined by the guy who owned the car before me. I plan to use them as winter wheels, but I can't take the wheels off of my car that day and get them sanded and painted. I do plan to fix them up, but I will take my time with it.
3. I wanted my car to look different, you can say everyone is rocking the same wheels, that's fine, I have not seen the same model wheel on a suby in Richmond at all.
I'm actually glad I did get cheap wheels, I'd still be fucking kicking myself if I hadn't... 6 days after I put my Rota's on I ran over some road debris on 295 and the weight + metal of the peice I ran over caused it to slam into my wheel. I ended up with a huge gash in the tire (probably eating up 2/3rds of the sidewall) and the metal cut into my lip and wheel about 2 inches, destroying the wheel. I'm convinced that no matter what wheels I had on my car, that wheel would have been destroyed no matter what. So I could have ended up losing out on about $800 for that one wheel if I had went with the RZs that I orignally planned on. If I had still had the stock BBS on, I would have been out about $500ish if I had wanted one new. Or I could have been forced to buy a whole used set for $800ish with lots of curb rash.
I couldn't care less about real wheels or fake wheels, as long as someone isn't putting stickers on their fake wheels I don't see a problem.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the OP still live at home with Mommy and Daddy? You might understand the true difference between real and fake wheels when you actually have to pay for shit other than just your car.
