If you want fucked up ones to try and fix/refinish yourself then those are even cheaper, but usually people just wanna buy a set and throw them on.

So, what are you gaining? Well, your initially spending a little more money compared to reps, but whenever you turn around and decide to sell your real wheels you will probably get your money back as long as you didn't get ripped off when you bought them. You buy reps, when you turn around and want to sell them, people will barely want to give you 50% of what you initially bought them for.

Are any of you actually spending 1300 on reps?

We've already heard your rant about buying used wheels that need refinishing, that's great, bend one of those used-but-refinished wheels and enjoy dropping the dime to replace it. On a track it's a different story, there's much to benefit from a wheel that weighs less.

And yes, lots of folks drop $1300 alone for replica wheels, even folks on the bmw forums, and most of the LM reps that first came out were only offered with a BMW lug pattern.
