Default Re: obd1 h22a superchargers

this is from GTRacer2B with his h22 cord

"I'll be supercharging my H22a gonna build a custom setup using a centrifugal charger located on the intake side of the bay with a drive shaft that runs over headers to pulleys to turn it. gonna be aftercooled as well. Nobody's got it for accord or for that matter H22a so I should have something special when I get through, hopefully this sponsorship I just picked up will help front some of the funding for it.

I think alot of why people do turbo over super is cuz of the "spooling up" feeling they give, plus the badass sound of a blow-off, and also when they hear the fact that a turbo can do like 22lbs of boost whereas a super usually only runs 6 or 8 and in some cases up to 12. Also the fact that most supers dont use intercoolers and turbos usually do, which adds to the cool points of a turbo.

Bear in mind tho that with a super, you have that power CONSTANTLY, from the moment you touch the gas, and under a centrifugal setup, you do actually get some spooling effect based on the design of the charger, but not to the extent of a turbo. Super tho does way less damage to a motor than a turbo. Think of it this way- if you put ur fist on ur arm and press against it as hard as u can, u feel a lot of pressure, but it doesnt really hurt. whereas if you punch your arm as hard as u can all at once, u def feel some pain. Your fist is the super/turbo, your arm is the internals of ur motor."
