Well thats not just Scion. My moms 1997 Toyota Avalon has the Alternator go bad in it but it was still under warranty. As far as door handles falling off, that hasnt happened, but the two rear doors dont open from the outside. Stuff in the interiors of Toyotas(in my experience) are garbage as far as parts breaking(door handles, Window cranks, vents, switches and lights) but the car has 130k+ miles and the engine still pulls to 125 like it was brand new. I dont like automatic trannys and the maintainance on them is super high but once again my moms tranny has never had a problem and it has 130k+ miles on it. Toyota makes good cars. I dont see a door handle falling off as reason to say that a car is garbage. There is always going to be Manufaturing defects, these cars are all built on an assembly line. The Ford Plant a few years ago were pushing 45 trucks an hour. That was a a few years ago Im sure it is up to 50+ by now. They test the chassis to make sure that it doesnt fall apart and thats it. Im sure other car manufatures do the same thing. Besides if you had the car two days and the door handle fell off then why didnt you bring it back to the dealer, they should have fixed it for free. If they didnt then the dealer is shit. What other parts broke on it in 2 days? I really would like to know so that I know what to look for when I go see one.
