Basically back in the day before anyone knew shit about making a car launch, the easiest way get more weight transfer to the rear. Easiest way to do that is to put the rear wheels closer to the center of the car, and raise the front end up high allowing the weight to shift back on the rear wheels, planting them for a harder launch.
