The japanese motor for the probe is out of a japanese mazda mx6.

Compared to the stock motor in the probe it has the following difference.

10::1 compression Stock is 9.2::1

8 degress more duration and slightly more lift on both intake and exhaust cams.

square ported heads and a different intake manifold.

The supercharged engine you are likely confusing it with is the millenia engine.

It shares a block and heads with the kl-ze, but it is a miller cycle engine.

The supercharger compresses to 22 psi against the compression stroke. It is a totally different animal.
