powertripping cops thinking they can bully everyone. Fuck em. If the management who controls the lot gives permission, then it's fine. The management in control of the lot has to revoke the permission for the police to boot you. In fact, if the lot is unattended, a complaint from property owner or manager, is the only thing that can get you booted, or the owner or property manager must give the police permission to boot you from the lot in their absence.

Unfortunately it's too hard to beat the bullying. I lost count of the number of times I got kicked out of taco bell back in the day when I was just trying to buy food, but they'd insist I was loitering and needed to leave immediately.
