Default Re: 4x4 Off Topic Thread

carpet isnt to hard. remove all bolts related to the seat until they come out(i had 1 wire harness to unplug before removing drivers seat), unscrew any trim that holds the carpet down, take out center console, unbolt seat belts if needed.

mine had some velcro on some areas under the carpet to hold it down. only issue is it may be sticky if its never been removed, so youll have to pull on it with some. just look under and make sure any sound proofing/heat barriers dont rip apart.
i had a plastic bag with sound material on the passenger side above the cats and it melted the bag to the floor and ripped apart when i pulled the carpet up.

carpets pretty easy to do overall, just heavy and everything on the floor has to come out.
the only real challenge is replacing it, cutting the holes in the new one.
next time i pull the carpet will to be to change its color and add sound deadening

while its out clean it real good. car wash, hang it on floor mat hooks, spray it with cleaner, scrub and rinse, let dry in sun on top of the truck, shop vac/reg vac the rest up.
clean the floor of the truck too
or if your local car wash has caution tape all over and is closed and theres nowhere else closeby, do what i did:
