Re: Who actually does there own work?
this is the way i look at it, if you have a shop install your intake then you have no want to learn anything about cars but just fit in. hell, i have never taken a course or had anyone teach me how, i just watched then tried it myself. for some of the harder things i have had to read up online or in a book. to me its just trial n error.
i say 4 years ago when i got my first car, i was a ricer and didn't know shit, but now i can have my motor out and also re-build it all by my lonesome. however, that is my car, that doesn't mean i can do any car. i can work on any d, b or h series car. don't really know anything about k series or mitubishi or anything else at all, but that doesn't mean i can't learn.
all i am saying is that you either have enough interest to try shit on your own or even take a class. but to the people who take their car in to get every little thing done........to me you get no respect, the more you have just means you have more money, and to me money doesn't=resect.
but i can understand if you just don't have time and need to make it to work everyday. but just try do do at least somethings. trust me, it feels pretty good when you can say you did it yourself and you did a damn good job.
